lähettimellä varustettu emo tullut tapetuksi amerikanhuuhkajan toimesta , jäännökset ja lähetin löydetty ...toinen poikanen, jolle asennettiin lähetin, on jo muuttomatkalla.

Aberfoylen poikasten matkan edististymisestä on kerottu The Lodge Forest Visitor Centerin FB:ssä. Vanhempi poikanen LH0 on Pariisin pohjoispuolella edelleen ja nuorempi LH1 on Marokossa.

Aberfoylen nuorempi poikanen LH1 on kiiruhtanut Saharan läpi vauhdilla ja päämääränä lienee Senegal!


Vanhempi poikanen, joka lähti aiemmin muutolle, on edennyt Pariisin phjoispuolelta Espanjaan Välimeren rannalle.

Hog Island's Bailey is fine. She is still in rehabilitation. When they examined her after the eagle attacks (14 September), they found a small fracture in Bailey's wing. It was an old injury, possibly due to the owl attacks in the summer. Her wing improves, but heals very slowly and needs another 2 or 3 months treatment. They are planning to move Bailey to a South East US rehabilitation center. There the climate is warmer and other kalasääski stay there for the winter. Hopefully her wing will heal completely and Bailey can then be released in the south. She is healthy and eats well.

(9/11) Bailey was safely transported by car and plane from Maine to her new home at the Florida Rehabilitation Center. She looked good after the trip.
