Male was taken care of his feathers and finally as they often do, he streched... look at that!


It's somehow different as usually it is manly! - I think, my first male Barn streching.
Barns, they are so lovely (among many others)!

You can see how much paler the male is to the female

That is also very true, robbo. He is much paler here... think there is some difference in temperament too and of course in body structure. Females often are motherly and softer.

Update:

As you may have noticed, there is a broken egg in the box, we are unsure as to how it got damaged. The female Owl has eaten the contents, which will be a fantastic source of nutrients for her.

The first egg is due to hatch on the 25th of May.

The first egg is due to hatch today. Haven't seen any signs yet... maybe you have?!

Mom take a break and a bit refreshes herself between incubation.

Brooding continues. It's difficult to see any marks of a hatching process, the eggs are there so far.
